The data and information on the website is not intended to constitute or form the basis of any advice (investment, professional or otherwise), and TransitionArc does not accept any liability for any claim or loss arising from any use of, or reliance on, the data or information. 

Furthermore, TransitionArc does not impose any obligations on supporting organisations to use TransitionArc data in any particular way. It is for individual organisations to determine the most appropriate ways in which TransitionArc data can be helpful.

For SBTi data

SBTi are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in SBTi data, including all SBTi standards, guidance and tools. Those works are protected by copyright law. All such rights are reserved.

SBTi data can be used for research, your personal use, or other non-commercial use provided that wherever you cite the data, you credit the “Science Based Targets initiative” as the source and provide a link to the relevant page of the website. You may also use SBTi data in editorial content, provided that you credit the “Science Based Targets initiative” as the source and provide a link to the relevant page of the website.

SBTi's status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of material must always be acknowledged.

Users must not use any part of the SBTi materials  without crediting “Science Based Targets initiative” as the source and providing a link to the relevant page of the website where the data is accessible.

If you print off, copy or download or otherwise use any part of SBTI materials in breach of these terms of use, your right to use our data will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made.

Reliance on information posted

SBTi data, guidance and standards, are not intended to amount to advice on which reliance should be placed. SBTi therefore disclaim all liability and responsibility arising from any reliance placed on such materials by any users of our data, or by anyone who may be informed of any of its contents.

SBTi data changes regularly

SBTi aims to update data regularly, and may change the content at any time. Any of the SBTi data may be out of date at any given time, and SBTi are under no obligation to update such material.

SBTi liability

SBTI data is provided without any guarantees, conditions or warranties as to its accuracy. To the extent permitted by law, SBTi and third parties connected to us hereby expressly exclude:

All conditions, warranties and other terms which might otherwise be implied by statute, common law or the law of equity.

Any liability for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage incurred by any user in connection with our site or in connection with the use, inability to use, or results of the use of our site, any websites linked to it and any materials posted on it, including, without limitation any liability for:

  • loss of income or revenue;
  • loss of business;
  • loss of profits or contracts;
  • loss of anticipated savings;
  • loss of data;
  • loss of goodwill;
  • wasted management or office time; and

for any other loss or damage of any kind, however arising and whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise, even if foreseeable, provided that this condition shall not prevent claims for loss of or damage to your tangible property or any other claims for direct financial loss that are not excluded by any of the categories set out above.

This does not affect SBTi's liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, nor SBTi's liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or misrepresentation as to a fundamental matter, nor any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

For TPI data

The publication of data and information supplied for the Transition Pathway Initiative is hosted at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), “the TPI Centre Data”.

TPI Centre Data is intellectual property of the LSE and copyright material, the publication of which does not constitute advice (investment, professional or otherwise) by or on behalf of the LSE.  

TPI Centre Data is to be accessed with such transient copying as is necessary for viewing access, but otherwise on a non-downloadable basis. Any queries on use other than as permitted by these terms should be referred to info@transitionpathwayinitiative.org.

Under no circumstances shall the LSE be liable for any loss, damage, liability or expense incurred or suffered that is claimed to have resulted from the accessing or the use of the TPI Centre Data via the TransitionArc platform (TransitionArc) or from the use or access to any data that is derived from the TPI Centre Data displayed on TransitionArc.

The displaying of TPI Centre Data on the TransitionArc platform does not constitute endorsement of such derived data by the LSE nor of the methodologies applied by Climate Arc or any party on its behalf to create such derived data.
